Mark 12:28-34

A scribe asks Jesus which is the first and greatest commandment. Jesus’ response to the question combines two commands given by Moses to Israel, the Shema from Deuteronomy and the command to love one’s neighbor from Leviticus. He has presented the scribe with the heart of the Ten Commandments, and the scribe acknowledges the truth of Jesus’ words.

I pray for wisdom and prudence as I strive to put my relationship with you and my neighbor above all else
