Luke 13:1-9

Jesus cites the murder of the Galileans at the hands of Pilate and an accident that took place in Siloam as evidence that repentance must not be put off until tomorrow, for tomorrow may not come. Everyone will be judged, so we must prepare now.

I pray for an attitude of joy in living each day doing your will and hope that I am able to be the person you created me to be.

John 4:5-42

The feelings of ill will between the Jews and the Samaritans are longstanding. To avoid contact with others, the woman waits until the heat of the day to draw water at the well. There, she encounters Jesus, and, in the words of the Collegeville Biblical Commentary, his word “moves her from isolation to faith to mission.”

You are the living water that refreshes my soul. You speak to me in Word and Sacrament. How can I possibly keep from spreading the Good News?
