Matthew 5:27-32

Jesus goes on to develop the law with his teaching about adultery. It is more than an act. It is all the thoughts and intentions that lead to the act. Jesus also speaks about divorce and the way it had been understood (Dt. 24:1). Breaking relationship with God and neighbor is at the heart of this teaching.

Let us pray for all those married and preparing for marriage. May they see their relationship, their covenant through God’s eyes and live out their commitment in kindness and love.
