John 20:11-18

Mary encounters Jesus but does not recognize him until he says her name. Like a sheep hearing the voice of the shepherd, she knows the voice of her Master. In telling her not to hold on to him, he is saying to let go of his humanity and look to him in his glory.

When I am truly attuned to you, I hear your voice, not with my ears but in my heart. There is no mistaking your voice; it fills me with joy and thanksgiving.
