John 8:31-42

Jesus’ adversaries twist everything he says. He tells them that because they do not accept that he is God’s truth, they are enslaved by sin and death. They respond that, as children of Abraham, they are slaves to no one. He speaks of his Father, and they foolishly contradict him by saying that Abraham is the father of the Jews. With that, Jesus chastises them for doing no more than paying lip service to their lineage.

I pray to be a worthy follower of you because of those who have gone before. I earnestly want to walk and talk the faith so as to bring others to you and your holy Church.
